Global inequality is the World Bank’s elephant in the room

openDemocracy | The World Bank says it can fight poverty through technical solutions. But poverty is inherently political. By omitting this dynamic, the World Bank renders the “middle-income trap” a technical problem, when it is in fact deeply political. And technical solutions can’t solve political problems.
